Chemical peeling
By a chemical peel we add an acid on the skin which gives a chemical reaction. At our clinic has advanced peels that give a good effect on the skin without flaking, and peels where the top layer of skin can peel off.
It is important to choose the right acid treatment in relation to your skin and your skin problems because they different acids have different effects. Many people find peeling and acid treatments scary, but this is one of the most effective treatments to maintain healthy and fresh skin.
What can a chemical peel or acid treatment improve?
A chemical peel can improve the skin by overproduction of sebum, acne problems, inflammation, pigments, lines, wrinkles and improve the moisture level of the skin. A chemical peel gives you a healthy and fresh skin with glow.
Pretreatment
When you are going to have an acid treatment or chemical peel, it is important to pre-treat with home products that contain similar acids so that the skin is widespread. This is also important for you to get the best possible result from the treatment.
Downtime
This will vary depending on the skin condition and type of acid treatment. Downtime can vary from none - to 5-7 days after the acid treatment. The skin becomes dry and tight after a few days and begins to flake. This normalizes from about day 5 - 6.
If you want a peel where you flake, it is absolutely necessary moisturizing products in after treatment. We have the products you need in our clinic.
Avoid pulling off skin flakes - or expose the skin for sun in this period. After a peeling you should use high sun factor - We recommend 50 in sun factor with UVA and UVB protection. In any case, you should have a high factor as part of yours daily skincare routine all year round.
How many peels do I need?
It will vary from what type of peeling you choose. The most common are to perform a series of 4-6 treatments with 2-4 weeks in between.
As a rule, we recommend a maintenance treatment every 3 months.
